Shock as Atiku’s Resignation Letter Leaks, Camp Blames Keyamo
A wave of controversy has erupted following the unexpected leak of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s resignation letter from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with his camp pointing fingers at Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo as the mastermind behind the exposure.
Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, condemned the publication of the letter, alleging it was deliberately leaked by individuals within the party who have always harboured ill intentions toward Atiku, in collaboration with political opponents. He described the move as part of a coordinated campaign to tarnish Atiku’s image and disrupt his political recalibration.
Ibe noted that the document was leaked to the press even before it reached its intended recipient, the PDP National Chairman, suggesting insider sabotage. He insisted that the premature release was not accidental but a deliberate political hit job, driven by fear of Atiku’s growing influence as he aligns with new political forces.
He accused Keyamo of abandoning his official duties to meddle in PDP affairs, describing the minister’s conduct as unethical and unbecoming. According to Ibe, rather than focusing on fixing Nigeria’s aviation sector, Keyamo has become obsessed with Atiku’s political choices.
The statement comes amid growing speculation over Atiku’s next political move after his recent strategic meetings with other political heavyweights. While no formal announcement has been made about his defection, sources suggest talks are ongoing with several opposition blocs ahead of the 2027 elections.
Atiku’s camp maintains that no amount of sabotage will deter the former vice president from pursuing a renewed political mission.
