Reekado Banks Says Wizkid Regretted Insult During EndSARS Era
Speaking recently, Reekado Banks revealed that the rift between him and Wizkid—sparked during the 2020 EndSARS protests—has finally been resolved.
The Nigerian singer recounted how tensions escalated after he announced the release of their joint single Omo Olomo in the middle of the nationwide demonstrations against police brutality. Wizkid, who was actively supporting the protest movement at the time, reacted harshly, publicly calling Reekado a “fool” and a “clout animal.” The outburst shocked many fans across social media.
However, Reekado has now disclosed that Wizkid visited his restaurant recently, where they spoke privately and settled their differences.
“Recently, he [Wizkid] came visiting my restaurant. We had a little talk and he was a little regretful about it,” Reekado said. “He said he shouldn’t have gone that route. He also mentioned his behaviour towards Don Jazzy.”
He added, “He said we’re three people in the industry who recently lost our moms, and he feels sorry about that time. So, we’re good now.”
The reconciliation signals a renewed bond between the two Afrobeats stars, both of whom have contributed immensely to the global rise of Nigerian music.
