Ayra Starr Declares She Has Nothing Left To Prove




LagosExplorer reports: Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has confidently stated that she has reached a point in her career where she no longer feels pressured to prove anything to anyone. The Grammy-nominated singer made the remarks during an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, where she spoke about her new single and the mindset behind it.


“I’m in a very comfortable place where I don’t see the need to prove myself to anybody other than myself,” Ayra Starr said, noting that her growth and achievements have given her the confidence to simply create music that reflects her current state of mind.


Speaking about her latest release, Hot Body, the Mavin Records singer explained why the track represents this new chapter in her life. “I released my song ‘Hot Body’ because I feel like this is the right time. I’m in the right headspace. I feel good. Right now, my body is better than I have ever felt,” she declared.


Ayra added that the single goes beyond being just a fun or trendy record. In her words: “I didn’t just release it because it sounds good. Look what the hot body can do, that’s exactly how I feel.”


The 22-year-old singer, who rose to fame with hits like Rush and has since earned international acclaim, including a Grammy nomination, has often been hailed as one of the leading voices of Afrobeats’ new generation. Her latest comments underline a newfound maturity and self-assurance, a sign that she is no longer weighed down by industry expectations but rather focused on her artistry and personal fulfillment.
