Reality TV star and Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Josephina “Phyna” Otabor, has called for justice after her younger sister was crushed by a truck allegedly belonging to the Dangote Group in Auchi, Edo State. The tragic incident, which happened just six days after the victim’s graduation, has left her battling for her life in the hospital.
According to eyewitnesses, the truck driver ran over the young woman and fled the scene, but was later apprehended by a lecturer who witnessed the accident. The situation has drawn widespread outrage after Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw revealed on social media that the truck’s number plate had been removed and that police were denying the victim’s family and concerned students access to the vehicle, which is now in custody.
The victim has already undergone an amputation of one leg and remains in critical condition, with fears that her other leg may also be lost. Speaking out on Instagram, Phyna accused the Dangote Group of instructing police to remove the truck’s plate number, questioning why no representative of the company had visited her sister in the hospital.
“Na money you get, you no be God. But my God is bigger. Enough is enough,” she wrote, vowing to ensure her sister gets justice.
Kate Henshaw also decried what she described as an attempt to shield those responsible from facing the law, urging authorities to act decisively.
As at the time of filing this report, the Dangote Group has not issued any official statement regarding the allegations. The incident has sparked intense public reaction online, with many Nigerians demanding accountability and swifter action from the police.
