The 15-track project, which became available on all major streaming platforms on Friday, has already set social media buzzing as fans and music lovers digest its raw and deeply personal themes.
Savage, widely celebrated as the Queen of Afrobeats, explained why she chose the title in an emotional post on X (formerly Twitter). According to her, the project carries her truest emotions and life experiences of recent years. “This project is so close to my heart and I poured every part of me into it. I just pray you receive it with the same love I created it with. Please cherish it, because This One Is Personal,” she wrote.
The singer, who has spent the last half-decade navigating motherhood, career shifts and personal transformation, deliberately kept the album intimate by featuring only three guest artistes—UK rapper Skepta, American Grammy winner James Fauntleroy, and Nigerian fast-rising star Taves. She explained that the decision was intentional so that fans could “feel her fully” in every song rather than be distracted by endless collaborations.
