LagosExplorer reports that Nigerian comedy legend, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, popularly known as Ali Baba, has been evicted from a multi-million-naira Victoria Island mansion after a Federal High Court ruling declared his ownership invalid.
The property, located at 324A Akin Ogunlewe Street, was acquired by Ali Baba in 2021 from the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) for about ₦220 million. However, the deal soon became the subject of a heated legal tussle when Harold Expansion Industries, the original owner, challenged the sale.
On July 31, 2025, Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa of the Federal High Court in Lagos struck out AMCON’s case, ruling that the agency failed to provide sufficient evidence of the alleged debt that led to the controversial sale. The judge ordered that the estate be returned to the family of the late founder of Harold Expansion Industries and further imposed ₦500 million in damages against AMCON.
Following the judgment, court bailiffs executed a writ of possession dated August 15, 2025, leading to Ali Baba and his company, XQZMOI TV, being forcefully removed from the mansion.

For now, Ali Baba has not issued a formal public statement on the eviction, leaving industry watchers speculating about his next legal move.
