Odumodublvck Demands His Headies Car, Fans Back Rapper
LagosExplorer reports: Nigerian hip-hop star Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck, has stirred social media after questioning the Headies Awards over an unfulfilled car prize. The rapper, who bagged the Next Rated Artiste award at the 17th Headies ceremony earlier this year, said he is yet to receive the vehicle that was part of his winning package.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, August 31, 2025, Odumodublvck posted in his signature street style: “I DON FORGET SAY I WIN CAR HEADIES WEY MY CAR?” The remark immediately sparked reactions online, with many of his fans urging the organisers to keep their word.
The Headies, one of Nigeria’s biggest and most prestigious music awards, has historically gifted Next Rated winners with luxury cars as part of the recognition for emerging talents. Past recipients include Afrobeats heavyweights like Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and Rema—making the prize not just a trophy, but a major milestone in an artiste’s career.
Fans argue that the delay in delivering Odumodublvck’s car casts a shadow over the credibility of the award body. Some music lovers on X accused the organisers of taking artistes for granted, while others hailed the rapper for boldly demanding what is rightfully his.
Odumodublvck, whose rise to fame was accelerated by his chart-topping hit Declan Rice, has built a reputation for his fearless voice and street-rooted authenticity. His latest call-out has once again positioned him as a figure unafraid to speak truth to power within the Nigerian entertainment industry.
As of press time, the organisers of the Headies Awards have not issued an official response to the rapper’s claim.
