Billie Eilish Slams Israeli Minister’s Gaza Relocation Plan as ‘Horrifying’
American pop sensation Billie Eilish has fiercely criticised Israeli Defence Minister, Israel Katz, over his proposal to relocate the entire Palestinian population of Gaza into what he termed a “humanitarian city” on the ruins of Rafah.
Eilish has been consistently vocal about the deepening crisis in Gaza. In March, she joined a number of celebrities at the 2024 Oscars who wore the symbolic red enamel pin, a gesture that signified their unified call for a ceasefire. The Grammy-winning singer didn’t stop there.
Katz had earlier announced that plans were underway to initially house 600,000 Palestinians, with the goal of eventually moving all 2.1 million residents of Gaza into the proposed camp. Eilish took to Instagram to share a screenshot of the news, bluntly captioning it: “Horrifying.”
She used her platform to call for urgent humanitarian assistance, stressing, “Gaza needs clean water,” in a follow-up post.
Her latest remarks add to the growing chorus of global criticism against Israel’s military operations and displacement plans in Gaza.
