Tinubu Gives AFRIMA 2025 Green Light, Promises Grand Show in Lagos

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has thrown his full weight behind the 2025 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), setting the stage for a massive cultural celebration in Lagos. The President’s endorsement comes with the swift inauguration of a Local Organising Committee (LOC) by the Federal Government in partnership with the African Union, AFRIMA International Committee, and Lagos State Government.

The global music event, themed “Unstoppable Africa,” is scheduled to take place from November 25 to 30, bringing together top African artists and music executives. Speaking during the inauguration in Abuja, Minister of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, described the event as a landmark platform for projecting African talent, boosting tourism, and creating economic opportunities for Nigerian youth.

Musawa highlighted Tinubu’s approval as a bold signal of the government’s commitment to the creative industry. She noted that Nigeria is prepared to deliver a world-class festival that showcases African excellence and creativity to the world. The LOC, which includes key federal ministries and agencies such as Foreign Affairs, Information, Interior, Education, Aviation, and the Nigerian Film Corporation, will work to ensure a flawless execution.

AFRIMA President and Executive Producer, Mike Dada, praised the federal government for its quick response and firm support, calling it a clear message that the administration recognises the industry’s potential in uniting Africa and enhancing its global image. He affirmed that Lagos, as host city, will offer the perfect blend of culture, energy, and infrastructure for the event.

With preparations now in full swing, all eyes are on Lagos as it prepares to host what is expected to be the most spectacular AFRIMA edition yet.
