LagosExplorer reports: The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed satisfaction with its victory in Saturday’s legislative by-elections, saying the results confirmed Nigerians’ confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and the party’s direction ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement on Sunday, the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the party, Seye Oladejo, said the APC’s triumph in 12 out of 16 contested seats showed that Nigerians still trust the ruling party to steer the country forward.
Oladejo described the results as a “clear referendum on the performance of the APC-led administration in stabilising the economy, tackling insecurity and steering the nation on the path of sustainable growth.”
He added: “With APC dominance reaffirmed, the stage is set for a grand 2027 showdown. The people have spoken loudly and clearly in favour of continuity. Nigerians will not forget who stood firm in the face of challenges and who delivered results where others failed.”
Oladejo further noted that the Labour Party did not win any seat, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) won one seat each, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) secured two.
According to him, the victories also underscored renewed confidence in the APC under its new National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who recently assumed office.
The by-elections, conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), were largely peaceful across the affected constituencies, though turnout was modest compared to general elections.
The APC said it would treat the victory not just as a celebration but as a renewed call to continue fulfilling its promises to the Nigerian people.
