Speaking in an interview with Nigerian Tribune, former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, delivered a fiery warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring that the Nigerian leader should brace himself for a return to Lagos after the 2027 presidential election.
Dalung, now a leading voice in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accused both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of failing the Nigerian people. He argued that persistent economic hardship, insecurity, and poor governance have created widespread disillusionment, setting the stage for smaller parties to rise.
According to him, “President Tinubu should prepare to return to Lagos by May 29, 2027,” a statement he backed by stressing that the ADC is fast positioning itself as the much-needed alternative. Dalung insisted that Nigerians are tired of recycled promises and are instead yearning for leadership that can restore hope, dignity, and progress.
The outspoken politician also dismissed Tinubu’s earlier description of the ADC as “a political IDP camp.” He maintained that the party is vigorously mobilising across the nation, determined to give Nigerians a credible platform for real change in 2027.
Dalung further revealed that the ADC will present strong candidates capable of breaking the dominance of the APC and PDP. He expressed confidence that the people’s desire for renewal and fresh leadership could shift the country’s political landscape in favour of alternative movements.
