Hulk Hogan Dies at 71 After Cardiac Arrest in Florida Home

Legendary wrestler and pop culture icon, Hulk Hogan, has died at the age of 71 following a cardiac arrest at his Clearwater, Florida residence.

According to Clearwater Police, emergency responders were called to Hogan’s home shortly before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2025. CPR was administered at the scene, and he was immediately transported to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at around 11:15 a.m. No foul play is suspected in the incident, authorities confirmed.

Born Terry Gene Bollea, Hogan was one of the most recognizable faces in professional wrestling, achieving global fame in the 1980s and early 90s. He became synonymous with the WWE (formerly WWF), captivating fans with his charisma, signature moves, and memorable showdowns—most notably his iconic body slam of André the Giant at WrestleMania III in 1987.

Beyond wrestling, Hogan branched into acting and television with roles in Rocky III, Mr. Nanny, and the reality TV series Hogan Knows Best. He also made entrepreneurial moves, including launching Real American Beer and co-founding a new wrestling promotion, Real American Freestyle, earlier this year alongside longtime collaborator Eric Bischoff.

In recent years, Hogan faced public controversies, including a widely condemned racist rant that led to his temporary removal from the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015. He was reinstated in 2018 and continued to appear in WWE events until his death.

Hogan’s death has triggered an outpouring of tributes from fans, colleagues, and notable figures around the world. WWE issued an official statement mourning his loss, calling him “one of the most iconic entertainers in sports history.” Fellow wrestling legends including Ric Flair, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels have also shared emotional tributes.

He is survived by his wife, Sky Daily, whom he married in 2023, and his two children, Brooke and Nick Bollea. His family has requested privacy as they mourn his passing.

Hulk Hogan’s legacy transcends the wrestling ring. He was more than a champion; he was a cultural phenomenon whose impact will continue to resonate for generations.
