Tinubu Has Earned Our Loyalty — No Governor Will Challenge His Re-election, Says Uba Sani
Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has declared that no sitting governor in Nigeria would dare oppose President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, citing the President’s unwavering support for sub-national governments.
Speaking on Monday in Kaduna at a two-day government–citizen engagement forum organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, Governor Sani noted that Tinubu’s leadership has deepened federal support for states in an unprecedented manner.
According to the governor, President Tinubu’s hands-on approach and consistent backing for state governors have not only stabilised governance across the country but also earned him widespread respect and loyalty among political leaders at the sub-national level.
“No president in Nigeria’s history has supported governors and sub-national governments the way President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently doing,” Sani said. “That is why I believe no governor will oppose him when he seeks re-election.”
President Tinubu, who could not attend the event in person, was represented by Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, and the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.
Governor Sani also applauded the federal government’s deliberate engagement with non-state actors in Northern Nigeria, describing it as a strategic move toward addressing the region’s unique challenges. He commended the Tinubu administration for prioritising collaboration and inclusive governance.
Sani’s comments come amid rising political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections and ongoing expressions of support for Tinubu within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The event at Arewa House brought together political leaders, civil society groups, and community stakeholders in an interactive session designed to strengthen dialogue and trust between citizens and the government.
