M.I Breaks Silence: I’m Not Intimidated by Odumodublvck, Shallipopi or Any Young Rapper

Iconic Nigerian rapper, Jude Abaga, popularly known as M.I, has made it clear he feels no pressure from the new wave of Nigerian rappers currently dominating the scene, including Odumodublvck, Blaqbonez, Shallipopi, Falz, and Ladipoe.

In a recent interview with Jay On Air, the veteran lyricist confidently stated that while he acknowledges the rising influence of these younger acts, he remains secure in his skills and legacy.

He explained that their success doesn’t make him feel outdated or outpaced, insisting he is more concerned about lyrical ability than popularity. According to him, the only thing that matters is whether any rapper can outshine him in the studio.

M.I praised the talents of Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez, describing their artistry as impressive, but emphasized that he doesn't feel threatened. He also distanced himself from the race for fame often associated with mainstream Afrobeats stars, stating, “I’m not Davido, I’m not Wizkid—they’re in their red-hot moment.”

With a career spanning over a decade and a track record of inspiring and mentoring many young talents, M.I’s latest comments reaffirm his confidence and continued relevance in the ever-evolving music landscape.
